The intention to be “in the
world,” for the salvation of the world, following the
example of Mary, “the star of evangelization,” and
the path traced out by Fr. Kolbe, have led our Institute to a
boundless missionary out-reach.
From Italy to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia,
the United States, Poland and Luxembourg... In every Country,
we seek to offer a concrete answer to the spiritual, moral, and
also material poverty of many people.
The apostolic horizons of our Institute
do not exclude any field of action. We are also committed to
work for the new evangelization in western Countries, in the
so-called “wealthy societies.” Our missionary
presence in the United States as of 1983, and in Luxembourg
from 1991 indicates that we wish to be Gospel leaven within
every reality, and to offer everyone concrete opportunities for
listening to God and encountering Him in their lives.
We work for evangelization and share our
spirituality, especially by:
- The proclamation of the Word of God,
catechesis, parish missions, door to door visitation;
- The animation of centers of
spirituality and prayer, retreats, workshops and meetings for
various categories of persons, and Marian conferences.
We can also assure an active evangelical
presence in many areas of social and ecclesial responsibility
through the Missionaries who live alone or in their family of
origin and keep their professional job, and through the Fr.
Kolbe Volunteers.
Our work of evangelization, according to
the needs of our contemporary world, requires the ability to
use the extraordinary possibilities of modern communication.
After Fr. Kolbe’s example, the
Institute's apostolic choices include the use of mass media,
especially by:
- The publishing and spreading of
periodicals and books in various languages,
- The preparation and broadcasting of
Radio and Television programs,
- The use of Internet.
Striving to be missionaries like Mary,
attentive to the signs of the times and the needs of the world,
actively involved within the reality of diverse peoples and
cultures so as to be a reflection of God’s goodness,
mercy, and tenderness: this is the spirit which animates our
consecrated life, and everyday sends us out on a mission!
